Reckless Service

Those who feel the freedom to fail are invariably the ones who take bigger risks and pursue more innovative solutions. It’s reminiscent of a Christian understanding of service, where those whose position before God has been secured are free to love their fellow man recklessly, even at a cost to themselves. People who have nothing to lose – whose assurance is premised on the unassailable blood of Christ – are free to give away everything. – from the article, “Optimization Nation: Deprogramming the Cult of Productivity” by David Zahl in The Mockingbird Issue 4.
